The Cleantech Track supports plans for new ventures that tackle environmental challenges in any of the following areas:
  • renewable energy
  • energy efficiency
  • pollution reduction
  • resource protection
  • conservation.

Submission Criteria:

  1. 2 page executive summary in the format specified on the forms page. The executive summary will address the opportunity, product, target market and industry, business and resources, path to market strategy, sustainable advantage, financials, and key risks and future needs.
  2. 5 minute video pitch uploaded to YouTube. The video can be either available to the public, or private if confidentiality is a concern. This is your chance to impress the judges! The video can be a product demonstration, standard elevator pitch format, slide presentation with audio, or anything else you can think of. Be creative! The only rule is that it must not exceed 5 minutes.
  3. Intellectual property acknowledgement form, which can also be found on the forms page. This document is required for the teams to state the status of their intellectual property and to acknowledge that any technology the business will rely on has not been misrepresented.

The business plans will be judged based on the following broad categories:

Product or Service Significance, creativity, feasibility, impact, development risk, product differentiation, IP status, barriers to entry Market Analysis Validation, sizing, segmentation, trends, scalability, industry attractiveness, value proposition Market Strategy Pricing, customer acquisition plan Management Funding strategy, company economics, exit strategy Offering Pay off opportunities to investors Viability and Sustainability Risk management, team commitment and availability
